Here we have a wonderful vintage find.....A Kentucky state collectors plate made by Paden City Pottery*. This plate depicts the great state of Kentucky aka the bluegrass state. From the 1940s, trimmed in gold, stamped on the back and showing some of the many wonderful sites of Kentucky...Churchill Downs, Kentucky Lake, the majestic Robin and a few more. 9 1/2 in diam. and in delightful condition. A great addition to ones plate collection or items of different states.
*Paden City Pottery was founded in 1914 in West Virginia. In the beginning it manufactured semiporcelain dinnerware. In the 1930's, it produced kitchenware. Paden City Pottery exhibited a souvenir salad bowl at the 1938-1939 World's Fair. They closed their doors in 1953. If one wishes to read more, there are many sites dedicated to Paden City Pottery Co.
