Here we have what we believe to be prayer beads which were made in Japan. Why these were brought by our family we have no idea but we do know that our family collected many Japanese items. These have aged wonderfully and are decorated with symbols in loving care with pictures and we believe these are prayers. It measures a little over a foot long, that's from the tassel on up. Whoever the artist was, they did a beautiful job. When they were made again we are not sure, we do know however they were bought in the 1940's or early 50's. Again a simply wonderful find and a great addition to anyone's vintage items collection or lover of Japanese items.
