A cute and lovable Seal made by *Steiff/Germany named Robby. His line was made between 1959 and 1967. Robby is made of Mohair and comes from our family, was bought when he came out and packed away all these years. He is in good condition, has his tag and button (#4314.00, this number also went to several other Steiff animals such as..Linda Kangaroo, Wittie Owl, Goldy Hamster and two others). He is around 6 inches tall (from head to the bottom of his flipper). We think he meets the seal of approval (sorry for the pun). Would make a great addition to anyone's Steiff collection or even as a gift.

polio, the company has grown to be synonymous with top quality the world over. Steiff is best known as the company that invented the Teddy bear. In 1902, Richard Steiff, a nephew of Margarete and a gifted artist/inventor, presented the idea to Margarete. At first, she was not enthusiastic. But with Richards persistence, she finally relented. And the rest is history. The famous “Button in Ear” trademark, introduced by Franz Steiff, another of Margarete’s nephews, in 1904, distinguishes every Steiff Teddy bear or animal.
